Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 3, 2026
CTA Stores ("CTA Stores," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website www.ctastores.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
This policy applies only to the Site. Our physical store locations may have separate practices (for example, security cameras and point-of-sale systems) that are not covered here.
1. Who we are
The Site is owned and operated by CAP OF HAYS LLC, doing business as CTA Stores, a Kansas company with stores in Hays and Wilson, Kansas.
Contact: contact@ctastores.com Mail: P.O. Box 772, Hays KS, 67601
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
We collect information you choose to provide through forms on the Site:
Contact form: your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
Careers / job application form: your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, the position and location you are applying for, your availability, work history, education, references, and any other information you include in your application.
You are not required to provide any of this information, but we can't respond to your message or consider your application without it.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our hosting provider (Squarespace) and our analytics tools automatically collect certain technical information, such as:
IP address and approximate location (city/region)
Browser type, device type, and operating system
Pages you view, how long you stay, and the site that referred you
Cookies and similar identifiers (see Section 4)
We do not sell products through the Site and do not collect payment information here.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
Respond to your inquiries and messages
Review and process job applications and communicate with you about employment
Operate, secure, and improve the Site
Understand how visitors use the Site so we can make it more useful
Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not sell it.
4. Cookies and analytics
The Site uses cookies, small files placed on your browser, for two purposes:
Essential cookies that make the Site work (for example, remembering your cookie preferences). These can't be turned off.
Analytics cookies provided by Squarespace that tell us things like how many people visited and which pages were popular. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown when you first visit, and you can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Site may not work as intended.
We currently do not use third-party advertising or tracking pixels (such as Google Ads or the Meta Pixel). If that changes, we will update this policy.
5. How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only in these situations:
Service providers. Squarespace hosts the Site and processes form submissions and analytics on our behalf. Squarespace's own privacy practices are described at squarespace.com/privacy. If you apply for a job, your application may be shared with the manager of the store you applied to and, if you advance in the process, with a background screening provider (see Section 6).
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Business transfers. If CTA Stores or one of its stores is sold or merged, your information may be transferred to the new owner as part of that transaction.
6. Job applicants
If you submit an application through the Site:
We keep your application on file indefinitely so we can consider you for current and future openings, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
If we decide to run a background check, we will provide you with a separate written disclosure and obtain your written authorization first, as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Submitting an application through the Site does not authorize a background check.
We use your application information only for hiring purposes.
7. Data retention
We keep contact form messages for as long as needed to respond and handle any follow-up, generally no more than 12 months. We keep job applications as described in Section 6. Analytics data is retained according to Squarespace's retention settings. We may keep information longer if required by law or to resolve a dispute.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and Squarespace maintains industry-standard safeguards for data it stores on our behalf. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
You can:
Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at contact@ctastores.com .
Withdraw a job application at any time by emailing us.
Manage cookies using the banner or footer link described in Section 4.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws (for example, California, Colorado, Virginia, or Texas), including the right to know what information we've collected, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We will honor valid requests regardless of where you live. To make a request, email us at contact@ctastores.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, but our cookie banner lets you decline non-essential cookies directly.
10. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Several of our stores sell age-restricted products (alcohol, tobacco, and vapor products) available only to customers 21 and older in accordance with Kansas and federal law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party links
The Site may link to other websites, such as Google Maps or our social media pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will post a notice on the Site. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
